A Numerical Solution For Half-Ellipse-Shaped Crack

Abstract:A numerical solution for half-ellipse-shaped crack is presented. In the solution, the hypersingular integral equation in conjunction with the curve length technique is used. Particular attention is paid to the case when b/c (b and c the minor and major axis of an ellipse) is a small value, for example b/c=0.02. A reasonable accuracy requires a sufficient discretization.
