A Historical Narration of Design with Nature-- On Relationship of I. Mcharg and Landscape Architecture from a Historical Point of view

Design with Nature was a product of its time in which I. Mcharg was the man being chosen. The story of Mcharg himself, is to some extent the history of "design with nature", and also is an vital part of the history of ecological planning and a part of the history of landscape architecture. Being renowned all over the world, I. Mcharg has brought about some controversy in landscape community which reflected the contradiction inside landscape architecture profession. It is important for current Chinese landscape architects to understand such a history in a controversial context of landscape architecture.
