Abstract: | A new approach to measure the spectral response of the short‐circuit current of solar cells is presented in this investigation. The main innovative feature is the light source, which produces a broad range of intensities, up to 10 suns in a quasi‐steady‐state mode, thus making the use of a bias light redundant. This results in large, integral signals that can be recorded directly without resorting to lock‐in amplification. Measurements of different solar cell structures with a conventional and the new measurement set‐up resulted in good agreement. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
