| Abstract: | The paper begins with briefly indicating that the future optical communication networks would require the most suitable optical devices. Then, by explaining that the optical "micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS)" would be the best devices, the paper describes their applications in wavelength routers, in optical crossconnects, and in optical switching successively. |
