Abstract:Theories,applications and key technologies of distributed optical fiber sensing system and PON are studied.The integration of distributed optical sensor network into PON is proposed,which is the future trend of optical fiber sensing and optical fiber communication.Aiming at the application of distributed optical sensor network in the security field,a fusion solution with EPON is put forward,integrating the OTDR technology into EPON for fiber optic fault detection and location.Experiments show that the approach is feasible.
