| Abstract: | In this paper, source, design and formulation of the contest problem "Speedily Crossing the Yangtze River" are revealed. Reviews for outstanding papers are given. Recommendations for encouraging students from two - year and three - year colleges and tertiary vocational and technical education schools to participate in the MCM, teachers training and the relation between Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and mathematics teaching reform are discussed. One solution of this problem is also given in the appendix. |
