Study on Overall Stability Analysis of Rubble Dam at Vulnerable Spots of the Lower Yellow River

The safety of rubble dams at vulnerable spots of the lower Yellow River (called hereinafter "rubble dam" for short) is always the focal point concerned by people. In order to evaluate the degree of safety of rubble dam comprehensively and rationally, the paper has put forward a method for calculating the minimum factor of safety of dam slope by taking Sweden method of slices as a basis, and discussed the relative changes of factor of safety of overall stability of rubble dam as the following factors are changed: (1)rock platform slope at the middle of the dam; (2)vertical crack at crest; (3) outer stable slope of base rock; (4)crest hightening along the slope; (5) water level in the front of dam; (6) reinforced range of geotextile.
