This article documents the history of the design and construction of the Saint Pierre Church at Firminy,the posthumous work of Le Corbusier. Through analyzing the author reveals the evolution and the breakthrough of Le Corbusier's skill of light use in religious architecture.In addition,by analyzing a series of sketches of Le Corbusier,the author try to make clear the development of the project and explains the opening system of Le Corbusier's architectural design.
