城市的肌理是在历史发展过程中自然建造、成长起来的。生活的状态与城市的肌理紧密结合，作为地方的独特气质存在，一旦破坏，很难复原。本文站在城市建设的角度，能过对苏州山塘街和观前街的修复进行研究，从城市肌理、人类行为和心理等层面对古城的保护与修复提出建设性意见。
