Abstract:How to use of the current data on hand to make a reasonable assessment which can satisfy the reality of engineering has been the designing engineers' most concern. Combined with the DNV RP F105(2002), this paper has summed up som e current methods of assessing the free span of submarine pipelines and then put forward the corresponding method that assessing the free span. At the last this paper expatiated on the current development on the free span analysis. The cont exts of this paper have strong practicability which can be referred by the engin eering designers.
