| Abstract: | After shortly describing the anatomy of the human ear and the frequency analysis properties of the basilar membrane, the two basic theories in psychoacoustics are introduced, i.e., ‘place theory’ and ‘temporal theory’, for explaining pitch perceptions of human ears. The problems with the place theory and the temporal theory are also mentioned. A psychoacoustic model of pitch perception is introduced at last. |
