Rapid solidification processes and perspective part II

The number of alloys that have been produced by rapid solidification processing is immense. This article concentrates on the crystalline and amorphous alloys of commercial interest (e.g. aluminium, nickel and iron-base crystalline alloys and transition metal base glasses). The main structural features of these alloys are described in terms of processing conditions and some typical properties of crystalline materials are given.
