摘    要:随着各国政府对环境和资源问题的关注,可持续发展已经成为当今世界发展的主旋律,建设可持续发展型城市的需求也日益突出。以勒.柯布西耶、简.雅各布斯和希尔曼为代表的学者,站在环境的角度提出了“紧缩城市”理论,目的在于控制城市的无序增长,提高土地的使用效率。但较高的城市密度使“紧缩城市”无法摆脱以降低居住环境质量为代价的弊端。地下空间的利用为北京构建紧缩型城市提供了一条可行的途径,在提高土地使用效率的同时,可为城市节约更多的土地,创造开阔宜人的居住环境。北京目前正以地铁建设为契机,围绕着地铁站的建设做出了探索性的尝试。

Abstract:with the increasing concerns of national governments about the environment and resources, the sustainable development has become a " main melody" of todays world and there are increasing demands to build a sustainable city. Scholars such as Le Corbusier, Jane Jacobs and Hillman have presented the "compact city" concept based on the environmental consideration, in a move to control the disordered growth of cities and enhance the land use. However, the higher city density makes "compact cities" difficult to get rid of the disadvantage of reducing the quality of habitation environment. The use of underground space provides a feasible approach to develop Beijing into a "compact city", which not only can enhance the land use but also saves more land to create a comfortable community environment. Beijing now is making efforts based on the construction of MTR stations by taking full advantage of the opportunity of the MTR development.
