Urban Environmental Radio Wave Prediction Model Based on Cylindrical Parabolic Equation

Abstract:In this paper, a 3-D solid reconstruction technique combined with cylindrical coordinate parabolic equation is proposed to predict urban environmental radio wave propagation. The vector data of urban building elevation is extracted from the digital map, and the topological data structure of the Stereolithography file is established, which is converted into the fan-shaped raster data corresponding to the parabolic equation model, so as to realize the reconstruction of the 3-D geometric model of urban buildings. At the same time, combined with clustering algorithm and using urban image information to classify the surface environment, different electromagnetic parameters are assigned to different types of surface media, so as to realize integrated electromagnetic modeling in real urban environment that includes both building information and surface media parameters. Finally, the wave propagation characteristics in 3-D urban environment are simulated and analyzed by using the Split Step Fourier method. The numerical results show that compared with the traditional empirical model, this method can take into account the reflection, refraction and diffraction effects of radio waves, and can accurately predict the law of radio waves propagation in real urban environment, and has a higher computational efficiency. This model can provide guidance for wireless network planning and electromagnetic spectrum map construction.
