A Comparative Study of Postgraduate Entrance Examination Systems in China and U. S. A

GRE is one of the world-widely-accepted successful postgraduate entrance examination model in America. Analyzing the present postgraduate entrance examination in our country, we found that "unified planning", "binding forces", and "formalism"are its main shortcomings. In a time when we continue to reform and open to the outside world and haveentered WTO, we need to absorb every achievement of human civilization and to change our postgraduate entrance examination system from "Administrative Selection"to "Professional Selection", from knowledge orientation to comprehensive quality orientation, in order to set up a new postgraduate entrance examination system with both Chinese characteristics and international standards.
