Abstract:Orthogonal tests were conducted to optimize the parameters including current,voltage,feeding rate of powder and spraying distance for preparing nanometer Al2O3- 13%TiO2 (AT13) composite coating via plasma spraying.Based on the optimization test results,desired nanometer AT13 composite coating was fabricated on the surface of coating blade.A metallographic microscope,a scanning electron microscope,an electron probe micro - analyzer and an X - ray diffractometer were performed to analyze the morphology,microstructure,adhesion to substrate and crystal structure of as - sprayed ceramic composite coating. The abrasive wear resistance of the coating was also evaluated. Results indicate that as - sprayed AT13 coating is uniform and compact and has a low porosity.The coating was dominated by bi-modal distribution of completely melted ingredients and halfmelted ingredients,containing stable a - Al2O3 and rutile TiO2 as the major phases and a small amount of metastableγ-Al2 O3 as well.In the meantime,as - sprayed AT13 coating was well mechanically combined with the substrate and dominated by residual compressive stress,showing good abrasive wear resistance.
