What is bar code? It is method of automatic identification and data collection. The first patent for bar code was issued to inventors Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver on October 7, 1952. Bar code was first used commercially in 1966, but it was soon realized that there would have to be some sort of industry standard set. Now, China economy is taking a rapid development, and informationization & logistics aroused general concern. Bar code is an important information carrier in food logistics, and certainly will have an enormous development.
