The Control of Milbemycins on Alfalfa Mites and Thrips

Alfalfa is most widely distributed legume forage in the world. Because of its high yield, high nutritional value, palatability and many other advantages, alfalfa is considered to be one of the best forage. Mites and thrips as well as other pests on alfalfa do great harm to alfalfa, resulting in decreased in yield and quality. Aalfalfa is mainly used for the breeding of cows and other livestock, therefore, the pesticide used for alfalfa should be security, low-residue and so on. This article summarizes the application of the safety, efficient microbial pesticide milbemycins for alfalfa mites and thrips in foreign countries ,as well as the influence of mitbemycins used for controlling alfalfa mites and thrips on the yield and quality of alfalfa, providing informations for our country to control alfalfa mites with mibemycins.
