Abstract:This paper describes whisker reinforcement mechanism for composites. Reinforcement mechanism mainly involves load transfering,whisker pullout and interface debonding. The effects of interfacial characteristic and whisker properties on the mechanism are discussed. Finally future research directions are suggested.
