Abstract:The separator is one of the key equipment in the mass fraction 72% flake caustic soda production system with the capacity of ten thousand tons.The pressure distribution of separator in the production system was studied by numerical simulation.The 3-D two-phase flow in the whirlwind board separator was analyzed based on SIMPLE algorithm with the renormalization group(RNG) turbulence model of gas phase and Discrete Phase Model(DPM) of liquid phase.The influence of the different passed velocities on whirlwind board separator was discussed.The results show that the pressure drop increases with the increment of inlet gas velocity at the range of 3-13 m/s.The inlet gas velocity should be optimized to decrease the pressure drop in mass fraction 72% flake caustic soda production.
