Abstract:Based on multi-physics software Comsol Multiphysic 3.5,dynamic mesh technique and mass transfer theory,the dissolution process of solid solute was directly numerical simulated.Considering the natural convection in the liquid phase during dissolution process,a solid morphology develops due to the different mass flux around the solid-liquid interface,and the concentration gradient determines the dissolution rate.The results show that the method can well capture the interface motion and position due to dissolution,and obtain the propagations of flow and concentration field.The natural convection can facilitate the renewal of the interface and the mass transfer process.So the influence of natural convection on dissolution should be fully considered in the investigation of solid dissolution.
