A Kind of Stand - alone Four - axis Stepper Motor Motion Controller

In this paper, a kind of stand - alone four - axis stepper motor controller is designed, which is constructed with 8031 single - chip processor and motion control IC. The system can finish some simple commands with the parameters set up by the manual programmer device. It can also run independently with the application program stored in the NVRAM of the controller, which may be some complex program written on a computer with an ease to learn commands set and sent into the NVRAM through RS - 232 port. The hardware and software design of the controller are presented in this paper,and a practical example is introduced.
