Matrix method for dynamic calculation of beam pumping units.

On the basis of the theory of mechanics, the inter-relation of crank shaft torque, polished rod load and counterbalance of a pumping unit is investigated by using the matrix method. The kinematic parameters of the structural members and the acting forces between them are worked out, providing a basis for design and proper use of beam pumping units.
