This article starts with a review of the concept of policies in Lotus Notes/Domino including the types of the policies and the definition methods of them, and expounds how to configure and manage the Lotus Notes system and user behavior by deploying the policies in some ways, such as registration, setup, mail and desktop settings, etc., then discusses the promotion of the security and usability in the Lotus Notes system administration with policies. Finally, the article presents sample applications of Notes policies.
