Abstract: | Ti2AlC is strengthened by substituting Ti with V to form (Ti,V)2AlC solid solutions. The Vickers hardness, flexural strength, shear strength and compressive strength are enhanced by 29%, 36% and 45% for (Ti0.8,V0.2)2AlC solid solution, respectively. The strengthening mechanism is discussed. |
