Problems and Reflection on the Planning and Construction of "Mega-Community"

"Mega- Community" is a new type of resi- dential forms in some cities in a time when fast economic development is underway. It plays an important role in easing the population and func- tional pressure in the central areas of large cities as well as improving the living level of the people in the cities. Because of the extensive planning and construction as well as the lagging behind of the management, the emergence of "Mega-Community" has brought about many problems such as incon- venience in traffic and employment, lack of sup- porting facilities, aging of the facilities, etc. But "Mega-Community" doe have practical significance as well as theoretical significance in the construc- tion of a compact and saving-oriented city.
