Character and Value of Contemporary Cultural Buildings in Urban Construction

By reviewing the development history of the cultural buildingin the city after the establishment of the PRC, this article analyzes its role transformation and characters nnder the leadership of the government and concludes the practical ways in the current backgrounds of new district construction and city renovation. It expounds that the cultural building has set up its special role in the urban construction due to its commercial and artistic values in the new economic era.
