Abstract:An active power filter (APF) is a kind of power electronic device with dynamic harmonic suppression and reactive power compensation, which can track and compensate harmonics of various sizes and frequencies timely and rapidly, reducing the harmonic content of power system effectively. However, the APF is always working in high-frequency on-off states, which results in higher power loss and failure rate, thereby reducing its economy and operation reliability. To solve the above problems, the shortage of the traditional hysteresis current control strategy is analyzed, and a novel hysteresis current control strategy is proposed, which reasonably controls the on-off of the APF switching device, thus reducing the switching frequency and improving the harmonic compensation effect. In this way, the operation reliability of the APF and its harmonic compensation performance are improved. Finally, simulation and experimental results verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed operation strategy.
