Study on spatial-temporal pattern and evolution characteristics of international chromite trade from the perspective of complex network

Chromite is one of the most shortage of China"s seven big strategic mineral resources. To determine the core trading countries supply safety of chromite, the spatial-temporal pattern of the international chromite trade is studied to explore the relationship between supply of chromite international trade. The directed weighted network model is constructed based on the complex network theory using the chromite international trade data from 2009 to 2018. The overall characteristics of complex network, node degree value power-law distribution, trade core state recognition and its role in the international trade network are analyzed to obtain the spatial-temporal pattern and evolution characteristics of the chromite international trade. The results show that the chromite trade is developed to economic globalization, but trade share is still concentrated in a few countries. The chromite trade was controlled and conducted by a few countries, which are in the heart of the trade. China and South Africa play the most important role in the global chromite trade, with China as the major importer and South Africa as the major exporter.
