Abstract:Monodisperse micrometer-size polystyrene microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization with ethanol/isopropyl alcohol as the dispersion medium,polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVPK-30) as the stabilizer,lactic acid as the co-stabilizer and dibenzoyl perxide as the initiator.The size of polystyrene mircospheres is uniform and the size range is from 2.22um-4.15um.Effect of the ethanol/isopropyl alcohol ratio,PVPK-30,lactic acid,BPO and monomer concentration on particle size and size distribution was studied and...
