Abstract: | In this paper, a Mellin transform technique is used to express the stress intensity factor and the crack energy of an edge crack in a finite elastic disc directly in terms of the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The constant loading case is considered in detail and the results given in graphical form. |
