| 摘 要： | 英语委婉语是人们在日常交际过程中为谋求良好的交际效果而创造出的一种有效的英语语言形式。介绍了英语委婉语主要有的“避讳”、“礼貌尊重”和“粉饰、掩盖”三种语用功能,提出了实现这些功能的多种手段。

| Abstract: | As an effective form of English language created in the course of communication,the appearance of euphemism is to gain the ideal communicative effect.This essay expounds the three main functions:linguistic taboo,politeness and respect,whitewash and conceal of English euphemism,and discusses some common means of formation of English euphemism. |
