摘    要:介绍了一个高性能的汽车牌照识别系统及其核心技术,重点描述和分析了如下方面问题:(1)特殊的补光和成像技术;(2)新的自然场景下牌照定位算法;(3)新的基于可变模板的字符切分技术。在自然场景下的牌照定位中,提出字符笔画MGD模型以及基于该模型的牌照粗定位和精确定位算法。实验测试,该算法的定位准确率达到97.8%。在实际全天候应用条件下,系统的牌照识别准确率优于97%。该系统可以用于高速公路电子收费、治安卡口和电子警察。

Abstract:A high performance car license plate recognition system and its some core techniques have been introduced. The introduced significant techniques include:novel lighting and imaging mechanics,newly developed algorithms for license plate location,and deformable template based character segmentation techniques.For license plate location from real nature image,we present MGD model of car plate.Using this model,coarse and accurate license plate location algorithm has been developed.The location rate of the newly developed algorithm has reached 97.8%.The introduced systems have been used in all around china.In real all-weather application,it has shown over 97% recognition rate. This excellent system can be used in expressway toll,car monitoring and electronic-police system.
