Abstract: | A wide-field (2°) prime focus corrector has been designed and built for the Anglo-Australian Telescope. The corrector incorporates an atmospheric dispersion compensator for the spectral range 365-1014 nm. A four-element lens system is the basis of the corrector, and it provides a satisfactory state of correction over a full field of 2°. The design of the lens system is described. The choice of layout is related directly to the intrinsic properties of each component. |
