分析了我国造纸工业当前的形势，介绍了近两年取得的进展。着重提出对今后发展的几点意见：抓好“两个转变”，调整企业结构；调整产品结构，开拓市场；抓好原料基地建设；提高利用外资水平；高度重视环保工作；强化行业管理。

United and Energetic Moves Against the Confronting Challenges in the Chinese Pulp and Paper Industry

The paper was presented at the 1997 National Paper Industry Administration Conference last June.An overall picture of the current status of the Chinese pulp and paper industry in China was presented.Major achievments in the past couple of years were reviewed,and proposals were being putforth for the development of the industry in the coming years.The paper stresses on the importance of the restructuring of the industry pattern and its products in the present Market Economy environment.And,for the healthy growth of the industry,more close attention should be paid to the construction of fibrous raw material supply bases,environmental issues and market exploitations.Furthermore,strengthening of joint venture partnership to the end of better profitability for both parties should be given serious consideration.Last,but not least,enforcement of administrative supervision over the industry is being re stated.
