Specific features of the behavior of synthetic diamond in a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) combustion wave

Abstract:The behavior of synthetic diamond powder in an SHS combustion wave is considered by using the model Ti-B-diamond system as an example. The results presented show that the diamond can retain its properties when exposed to the extreme thermal conditions realized in an SHS combustion wave.Institute of Structural Macrokinetics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka.
