The Application of 3D Printing Plastic Materials in Auto Parts Design

In recent years, there has been a trend of replacing steel with plastics in the automotive industry. With the continuous development of 3 D printing technology, 3 D printing plastic materials are widely used in anto parts design which can effectively save the automobile research and development cycle and cut costs. This paper summarizes the current technological situation of 3 D printing plastic materials, including the type, shape and technological development. This paper also discuss its impact on the design of auto parts, and introduces the application of 3 D printing plastic materials in auto parts design. At the end of the paper, the future development trend of 3 D printing plastic materials in auto parts design is discussed.
