Abstract: | Water cooling of hollow steel sections in buildings in case of fire Supporting hollow steel sections in building constructions can be water cooled. In case of fire, the water cooling must guarantee the supporting function of the steel sections for a definite period of time. Possible corrosion reactions are discussed for the normal service as well as for the case of fire. The parameters of interest are outlined and explained in detail with respect to testing. Cases of application are presented, and the corrosion resistance of the systems is described. |
