| Abstract: | Prepositions develop their polysemy on the basis of their spatial concepts by metaphorical mapping, which produces abundant colorful metaphorical meanings of the prepositions. To study the motivations of the prepositional polysemy from the cognitive perspective will be of course meaningful to ELT, especially to the teaching of the vocabulary. |
