毛细管加电场测试液晶各向异性黏滞系数

摘    要:液晶是各向异性的液体,液晶的黏滞系数是对显示器件影响较大的参数之一。液晶的黏滞系数有多种定义,测试液晶黏滞系数有多种方法,本文介绍采用毛细管加电场测试液晶各向异性黏滞系数的实验方法。在不加电场时,毛细管里流动的液晶的指向矢自然采取沿毛细管方向取向,测试得到平行黏滞系数研η∥;当加电场时,毛细管里流动的液晶改变为垂直于毛细管壁的方向取向,测试得到垂直黏滞系数η⊥。

Abstract:Liquid crystals are anisotropy liquids,the viscosity coefficient of liquid crystal device is one of the significant impact parameters.There were many definitions of coefficient viscosity of liquid crystal,and also there were many methods to test the viscosity coefficient of liquid crysta1.A new method of tested the viscosity coefficient of the liquid crystal based on the capillary have been developed.The principle of this method is allow liquid crystal flow down frOm the capillary vertically,when there is no electric field application,liquid crystal flow down in the capillary with director orientation along with the capillary,the parallel viscosity coefficient η∥,,can be tested (Also known as Miesowicz viscous coefficient η2).When applied on an strong electric field.the liquid crystal flow down frOm the capillary with the director orientation perpendicular to the capillary wall,SO the vertical viscosity coefficient η⊥ can be tested(Also known as Miesowicz viscous coefficient η1).
