Investigation on the Contents of Active Ingredients in Whitening and Freckle-Removing Cosmetics

To further understand the use of whitening and freckle removal agents,and to provide the reference for supervision,12 kinds of whitening and freckle-removing active ingredients in 72 batches of commercial cosmetics,including 10 kinds of whitening and 2 kinds of prohibited ingredients were tested,and the test results were compared with the product identification label.The results showed that a total of 7 kinds of whitening and freckle-removing agents were detected in 72 batches of samples,and none of the two forbidden components were detected.The ingredients with the highest detection rate was niacinamide,which reached 44.4%,β-arbutinwas followed by which reached 15.3%.The test results of 7 batches of samples were inconsistent with the label identification,the inconsistency rate was 9.7%.Although whitening and freckle-removing products have been supervised as special-purpose cosmetics,a whitening and freckle-removing ingredient approved table has not yet been released,so it is unable to conduct the quality control,there are certain risks,and the test results were inconsistent with the label identification.The regulatory authorities are suggested to strengthen supervision,and to publish the approval form as soon as possible.
