Cosmetic technology and engineering is a new engineering major derived from the major of light chemical engineering under the background of emerging engineering education.The scale of Chinese cosmetics market ranks second in the world.However,currently there are only 7 universities offering this major,and the existing education system cannot meet the needs of the cosmetics industry for innovative and entrepreneurial talents in China.Therefore,a scientific and reasonable education system for the major of cosmetic technology and engineering is important for the development of the cosmetics industry.Nowadays,the cosmetic engineering education systems of some universities in the United States,Europe and Asia are advanced in the world.By learning from them,we can explore a new model of innovation and entrepreneurship education for cosmetic engineering with Chinese characteristics.
