Abstract: | Using ultrasound for the solvent extraction of gallium with Kelex 100 dramatically increased the rates (up to 15 times) of extraction in both artificial and real solutions. Among the modifiers, 2-undecanone performed the best; among the diluents, Escaid 200 produced the best results. With the application of ultrasound, temperature did not effect gallium extraction. Further, through the intermittent use of ultrasound, energy consumption can be decreased significantly. |
