Progress and Perspective in Research and Development of Agrochemicals

The market for agrochemicals has grown only slowly during the past years, with a more competitive environment. Agrochemicals are also used in a variety of non - crop applications. Demand in this sector is growing at a much healthier rate. Demand for new insecticides is increasing and the outlook for growth in the most of markets is better, since older compounds, the highly toxic OP compounds in particular, are likely to be phase out. It can be predicted that the market for pest control is still dominated by chemical compounds in the near future, although GM crops has developed. The newer structural types focused on some of heterocyclic compounds, such as neonicotinoids, oxadiazines, strobilurins and triazolopyrimidines. These new agrochemicals have made important impacts upon the industry over the past 5-10 years. The sustainable development of agrochemical industry in China has to keep in step with the world' s industry.
