吡啶及其衍生物是一类十分重要的精细化工产品。其用途十分广泛，尤其在医药、农药等领域更是受人关注。在农药领域中,吡啶结构几乎遍及所有类别的农药,表1即为含吡啶环的农药品种。在医药品中,亦有不少含吡啶环的品种,见表2所示。
