Abstract: | An experimental study of fluidic mixing in a cylindrical reactor was conducted in order to determine the effects of jet position and liquid viscosity. The tests were carried out in a tank of 0.09 m3 liquid volume using eight conductimetric probes to measure the mixing time. Relative jet positions leading to an impinging flow structure have been found to be less efficient than shear flow configurations. Mixing time and inhomogeneity correlations extending the previous results of Simon and Fonade (1993) are put forward for mixing by steady or unsteady jets. |
