CAOFEIDIAN SUSTAINABILITY CENTRE

The Sustainability Centre, named Crystalline, is a key component in the realization of the environmental goals of the Caofeidian Eco-city. Through its construction and program, the Centre demonstrates future sustainable technologies and communicates a vision consistent with the principles of the Eco-city, the construction and expansion of which will be monitored from the building. Located on a peninsula with close proximity to Caofeidian＇s administrative core, the Centre will be an iconic symbol for the growing Eco-city and for China＇s sustainable urbanism initiatives. Crystalline is integrated with a surrounding landscape showcasing sustainable technologies and ecosystems. The Centre is a model for an energy efficient building, projecting low energy demand and demonstrating working examples of renewable energy technologies. With its unique architectural style and demonstrations of innovative environmentally efficient technologies, the Centre will embody and promote the sustainable principles central to the development of the Caofeidian Eco-city.
