An efficient multigrid solver for a reformulated version of the poroelasticity system

Abstract:In this paper, we present a robust and efficient multigrid solver for a transformed version of the system of poroelasticity equations. The transformation enables us to treat the system in a decoupled fashion. We show that the transformation boils down to a stabilization term in the iterative scheme, and that the solution of the original problem is identical to the solution of the transformed problem. A highly efficient multigrid method can be developed, confirmed by numerical experiments.
