Abstract: | Homogeneous carbon submicrospheres with average diameters of about 700 nm were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal route without utilization of any catalyst or template, using glucose as carbon source. SEM observation indicated that the product consisted of abundant submicrospheres with smooth surfaces. As an example of potential applications, carbon submicrospheres were used as adsorbent in wastewater treatment. The results indicated that carbon submicrospheres could be used as a novel, effective and low-cost adsorbent materials for dye removal. |
