The History, Present Situation and Prospect of the Hydraulic Studies on River Diversion, River Closure Problems of Three Gorges Project

This paper introduces the contents, course, main results and basical conclusions of experimental studies on hydraulics of river diversion and river closure for the Three Gorges Project with regard to its different design stages in the past 35 years conducted in various reseach institutes. Accordingly , a few remarks upon the orientation of future study in this field are also made.
